There are some question marks over the future of Ethan Page coming out of the WWE NXT Deadline premium live event.
Page was one of five participants in the men’s Iron Survivor Challenge match won by Oba Femi, meaning Femi is now the #1 contender for the NXT Championship.
As a former NXT Champion, Page was left questioning what he has to do to get back into the title hunt, and ended up contemplating his future all together.
In a post-match interview, he said:
“18 years. 18 years it took me to get here. To climb that mountaintop, to win THE championship. But it also took me 18 years to figure out that Ethan Page has no clue how to get back there.”
When he was asked what exactly he meant by that, he replied:
“I don’t know. I can’t do this.”
Page then walked off in a rather sombre mood.
One potential option for what’s next would be a move from NXT to either WWE Raw or SmackDown as part of the ‘transfer window’ that was announced ahead of Raw’s move to Netflix.
Another theory thrown out there by some fans is the arrival to WWE of Page’s former tag team partner in TNA, Josh Alexander, but there’s been no actual evidence of that being the case.
Whatever it may be, it seems that something is about to change for Ethan Page. We’ll keep you posted with any further updates.
