Drake Maverick Claims Former WWE Star Changed How Wrestlers Interact With Fans

Popular NXT star Drake Maveirk has credited Matt Cardona (FKA WWE’s Zack Ryder) for changing how wrestlers interact with fans.

Social media plays a key role in how wrestlers communicate with fans, and NXT star Drake Maverick thinks that Matt Cardona deserves credit for changing how competitors use their social media platforms to connect with their audience.

Maverick took to Twitter to praise Cardona, retweeting his the Long Island native’s podcast announcement. Crediting Cardona with changing the promo game, Maverick tweeted:

“Without THIS MAN your Twitter, Instagram, YouTube promo wouldn’t exist. Doesn’t get the credit he deserves for completely changing the way a person could connect with their fan base.”

Cardona started his famous YouTube series, Z! A True Long Island Story, In early 2011. One of the first instances of a WWE star creating an online brand away from wrestling, Cardona quickly became a fan-favourite inside the ring.

Maverick’s praise was in reaction to Cardona’s tweet, announcing the launch of the MC! A True Long Island Story podcast on Major Pod Network.
