This is a very sad day for wrestling. As of this writing, a large number of performers have been released from WWE with more rolling out. One of those who has been released is Drake Maverick.
The former General Manager of 205Live took to Twitter soon after news broke to post a very emotional video.

The video breaks down the news of his release as well as a few details about his future. Maverick is scheduled to compete in the NXT Cruiserweight Championship tournament and will compete in those matches. However, that appears to be it for him.
Maverick has been under contract with WWE since 2017. He made his debut on January 30, 2018, as the general manager of 205Live. Since then he has served as a manager for AoP and has worked programs with the likes of R-Truth over the 24/7 Championship.
He spent his most recent months as a wrestler rather than a manager. Maverick had formerly been a star in Impact Wrestling where he was known as Rockstar Spud.
We here at WrestleTalk extend our best wishes to Maverick as well as all others who have lost their jobs today.
