On last night’s episode of NXT, Drake Maverick lost in the final of the Cruiserweight Championship tournament to El Hijo Del Fantasma, and so it looked as though his WWE career was over.
Maverick was part of the “Black Wednesday” releases back in April, but has since appeared in the tournament, and it was widely assumed he had been re-signed due to his increasing fan popularity.
After last night’s match, Triple H came out and offered Maverick a clipboard, which we now know was a brand new contract with the company.
Maverick has now reacted to the new contract in an emotional video posted on Twitter.

Now that the tournament is over, it will be very interesting to see how Maverick is used by WWE. It isn’t clear whether he is now a full-time NXT star, or whether he’ll be used in another capacity.
