An update has emerged on Drew McIntyre, who has been absent from WWE since Saturday Night’s Main Event on May 24.
McIntyre lost to Damian Priest in a steel cage match at the WWE special event, with it later being reported would be taking an ‘extended leave of absence‘.
This came after confirmation that Drew McIntyre had been working hurt and was unable to turn his head “all the way left”.
With McIntyre having been absent for a month, at the time of writing, details have emerged that cast doubt on an imminent return.
WrestleVotes recently revealed that McIntyre is seemingly not set to make a return in the near future, noting:
“Nothing in the pipeline recently, which tells me it’s not imminent.
“But when he’s ready, if I’m booking, I would put him at the top. I think the guy deserves it.”
At WWE Backlash in May, McIntyre seemingly hit his head on the floor during the four-way match for the United States Championship.
Speaking after the event, Triple H noted that McIntyre was “a little banged up but totally fine”.
In April 2024, it was reported that Drew McIntyre’s current WWE deal will see him remain with the company until 2027.
