Drew McIntyre Explains Why He Lost At WrestleMania 37

Drew McIntyre has explained the reason why he lost to Bobby Lashley at WrestleMania 37 in the WWE Championship match.

When it was announced that McIntyre would challenge for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 37, many fans assumed that McIntyre would win in a feel-good moment. This is why it came as such a surprise to some fans when Bobby Lashley defeated McIntyre with The Hurt Lock.

According to McIntyre, this was just another chapter in his WWE story. Speaking on The Rack Radio Show, McIntyre compared himself to Batman in terms of relatability.

Implying that an easy WrestleMania title win would’ve been unrealistic, McIntyre explained that his character is more compelling when chasing a goal.

Here is the full quote:

“I’m not Superman, I’m Batman and I have to be relatable. I am flawed as human, with all the ups and downs I have been through and I certainly haven’t had it easy the entire time. Why should I have it easy at Wrestlemania? I have to keep overcoming it at the same time while making top level superstar in Bobby Lashley, we need as many top level superstars as possible. To get that moment taken away, I’m still chasing that moment in front of the fans at Wrestlemania.”

McIntyre earned a championship match against Bobby Lashley at WrestleMania Backlash. Braun Strowman was added to the upcoming pay-per-view match to make it a WWE Championship Triple Threat bout.

Similarly, Charlotte Flair, Asuka and Rhea Ripley will do battle for the Raw Women’s Championship on Sunday. Ripley has recently opened up about being sent back to NXT following WrestleMania 36.
