Drew McIntyre: ‘I Need To Fight Goldberg’

Some fans were perturbed when it was announced that Drew McIntyre would be facing Goldberg. WWE fans have grown tired of Goldberg but now McIntyre has said this is something he needs to do.

While speaking to Telegraph India, McIntyre talked about his upcoming match with Goldberg. More specifically, he said Goldberg is who he needs to fight to take his career to the next level. Here is the quote:

“It’s crazy! I remember my brother and I would flip between WWE and WCW, waiting for Goldberg’s matches. Then when the video games came along, I would create myself in the Create-A-Wrestler mode and fight Goldberg. I always thought I would be WWE Champion, because that was my dream, but I never thought I would be WWE Champion fighting Goldberg. It is who I need to fight to take myself and my title reign to the next level. It’s going to be an absolute war, with McIntyre and Goldberg.”

Drew McIntyre will be facing Goldberg for the WWE Championship at the Royal Rumble this Sunday. It will be Goldberg’s first match since losing the Universal Championship to Braun Strowman at WrestleMania.
