A new report has revealed the reactions of Drew McIntyre and the production crew following the odd audio botch on last night’s episode of Raw.
While Drew McIntyre was making his way to the ring on the August 2 show, Michael Cole could be heard shouting “16-time World Champion”.
It was reported that this was a production error caused by WWE accidentally laying over audio of Michael Cole, instead of boosting the crowd volume.
As per Fightful Select (subscription required), the clip that actually played was part of a video package for John Cena and Roman Reigns’ SummerSlam build.
Drew McIntyre reportedly inquired about the mistake personally after hearing the reaction on social media. It was also noted that production employees were initially confused as to why crowd noise was being added in the first place, as McIntyre and Jinder Mahal were reportedly receiving great reactions.
McIntyre and Mahal have been feuding since Mahal cost his former Three Man Band-mate the Money in the Bank ladder match last month. Mahal has stated that if he had his way, he’d wrestle McIntyre at SummerSlam in a match with an interesting stipulation.
