Drew McIntyre References CM Punk AEW Promo WWE

Even after the WWE Money in the Bank kickoff show ended, Drew McIntyre was still heated and seemingly referenced an AEW promo by CM Punk.

Shared by WWE on social media, a video clip of McIntyre continuing to be incensed after the panel at the kickoff show.

Drew McIntyre says in the clip:

“That thing (Money in the Bank) has cost me the title twice, look at the facts I just gave out there. Try to find some people who have beat me over the past four or five years clean, one-on-one.

“95% I believe is about accurate. I need that contract to put the power in my bloody hands.

“Tell me when I’m lying.”

Although a slight alteration of the original line, “Tell me when I’m telling lies,” the comment seemingly references a line that CM Punk delivered upon his return to AEW for the first time after the altercation following AEW All Out 2022.

Earlier on the Money in the Bank kickoff show there was a panel featuring all of the men’s stars set for the upcoming ladder match where each gave details regarding why they should be the contract holder.

The match is set to feature Carmelo Hayes, LA Knight, Drew McIntyre, Chad Gable, Jey Uso and Andrade.

WWE Money in the Bank is live from Toronto, Ontario, Canada on Saturday, July 6, 2024 streaming on Peacock.
