Drew McIntyre has criticised a controversial storyline, stating that nobody wants the anonymous General Manager back.
In 2010, Vince McMahon introduced the anonymous Raw GM after firing Bret Hart from the position. The mystery authority figure would send emails to a laptop at ringside, which Michael Cole would often read out.
The anonymous GM was phased out in 2011, with Triple H and John Laurinaitis becoming regular on-screen presences. On a recent episode of WWE The Bump, McIntyre commented on the infamous storyline, joking that it should return.
McIntyre has since taken to Twitter to confirm that he was indeed poking fun at the anonymous GM storyline, writing, and I quote:
“That was a bloody joke, don’t be encouraging such nonsense. Absolutely nobody wants the anonymous GM back!”

McIntyre is set to face Madcap Moss at WWE Day 1 on January 1. Backstage details have emerged on WWE’s current plans for the event, following a number of talents and staff reportedly testing positive for COVID-19.
