The build towards WWE Clash at the Castle continued on last night’s episode of SmackDown, when we got a look at Drew McIntyre’s ‘road home’ ahead of the United Kingdom stadium show.
In the main event, Drew McIntyre went one on one with the Bloodline’s ‘honorary uce’ Sami Zayn, in a match which McIntyre picked up the victory in with a Claymore.
After the match, Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns stormed to the ring and assaulted McIntyre, before he led a four-on-one attack with the Usos and Sami Zayn.
WWE shared a photo of McIntyre’s back following the brutal assault at the hands of the Bloodline, sporting numerous cuts and bruises from the attack.
Drew McIntyre and Roman Reigns are set to main event the Clash at the Castle event for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship in Cardiff next weekend.
WWE taped ‘Roman Reigns two-year championship celebration ceremony’ for next week’s show following last night’s SmackDown. The full results from next week’s pre-taped episode can be found here.
