Drew McIntyre Sets Record Straight On Clash At The Castle Ending

Drew McIntyre Sets Record Straight On Clash At The Castle Ending WWE

After Drew McIntyre’s loss to Roman Reigns aided by the shock arrival of  Sikoa, it seemed like the party was over for those fans waiting to see a new champion at Clash at the Castle.

Tyson Fury however stepped up into the ring to console McIntyre and congratulate Reigns on his victory.

In a bizarre turn of events, Fury and Drew McIntyre then sang a rendition of Don McLean’s ‘American Pie.

Drew tried to instigate a sing-along to ‘Sweet Caroline’ which for some reason, Tyson didn’t seem too keen on despite his penchant for bursting into song.

McIntyre has now explained the head-scratching moment and claims “not all of it” was meant to air on TV. Speaking on the Hollywood Raw podcast, he explained:

“The singing that happened in Cardiff, if you had told me, ‘You’re going to sing a song after you lose a big match,’ I still haven’t checked how much was on TV, but not all of it was supposed to be on TV, but we went for it.

“If you embrace it, chances are the crowd is going to embrace it too and you’re going to have a fun time together. After that fun time, you deal with the serious storyline stuff on the following TVs.”

It is unclear whether Drew McIntyre watched long enough to see himself belt out the chorus of crowd-pleasing favorite, “Don’t Look Back in Anger” by Oasis.

Drew, himself, seems to be living by the moral of the song, noting that there is little than can embarrass him these days:

“I’ve been through so much and I realize what is important now and realize the entertainment factor.”

Drew McIntyre’s next huge appearance at a premium live event will be at Extreme Rules on October 8, where he will face Karrion Kross in a strap match.

The star was recently taken off the road after he was ill with bad food poisoning.
