Drew McIntyre Calls Out WALTER For WWE Dream Match

Two-time WWE Champion Drew McIntyre has called out WALTER for a dream match during the upcoming WWE UK tour.

McIntyre was on live-tweeting duties for last night’s NXT, and seeing the Imperium tag match seemingly lit a light bulb in his hard Scottish head.

He tweeted:

Seeing Imperium just gave me an idea… Hey @WalterAUT, I’m back in Europe next week on tour, you know where to find me if you want a scrap.

Drew McIntyre vs WALTER is a dream match that fans have been wanting to see for years, and we did get a little bit of a taste of it at Survivor Series 2019, which saw McIntyre eliminate WALTER from the Raw vs SmackDown vs NXT tag match.

WALTER’s future seems a bit uncertain after he lost the NXT UK Championship to Ilja Dragunov, and despite him having said in the past that he would prefer to stay in Europe, there has been an uptick in speculation about a permanent move to the US after the title loss.

Among other things McIntyre tweeted during NXT were praise for Hit Row and Legado Del Fantasma, joking that LA Knight’s chances of winning had “drastic gone down” when he was against Bron Breakker (Rick Steiner’s son, Scott Steiner’s nephew), and saying there’s no-one better to usher in the new era of NXT than Tommaso Ciampa.
