Drew McIntyre Wants A Match With John Cena

Drew McIntyre is on top of WWE right now. As WWE Champion, he has taken on all comers but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t still have goals of his own. One of which has just been revealed.

McIntyre recently spoke to The Sun where he revealed that he wants a match with John Cena. Cena is still one of the biggest names in wrestling, despite mostly leaving for Hollywood. Here is the quote from McIntyre regarding Cena:

“I would say ‘you’re the one I want to beat’. I want that name on my list. It’d be a heck of a match.”

While they have clashed in tag team matches in the past, Cena and McIntyre have never wrestled one-on-one. When McIntyre was being billed as ‘The Chosen One’, he and Cena were on separate brands and thus never faced one another. By the time McIntyre moved to Raw, the bloom was off the rose and a match with Cena wouldn’t have been significant.

Now, that is very much not the case. Cena would need to return once again for a prospective match with McIntyre but it would definitely be an attraction. McIntyre is currently scheduled to face Randy Orton at SummerSlam.
