WWE’s Drew McIntyre has shared a positive update about his health, ahead of his return to the ring at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
McIntyre is slated to face Randy Orton at the July 12 WWE special, in what will be his first match in almost 50 days.
Drew McIntyre hasn’t wrestled since the previous Saturday Night’s Main Event show on May 24, when he lost to Damian Priest in a steel cage match.
Following this bout, it was reported that McIntyre was set for an “extended leave of absence“, with McIntyre publicly noting that he was working hurt ahead of the steel cage match.
In a new interview with Fox News Digital, McIntyre noted that he’s currently feeling the best he’s felt in a number of years.
The Scottish Warrior noted:
“I honestly feel better than I felt in about, minimum, six or seven years. During this time off, I’ve had a chance to step back and look at everything from an outside perspective…”
Discussing the physical changes he made during his time off, McIntyre said:
“For the first time in my life, I’ve brought in somebody to start the diet the right way. I brought somebody in to start doing rehab at the gym, stretching things I’ve never done in my life and it’s unbelievable what it’s opened in my body and feel exactly the way I did probably like before I won the Royal Rumble in 2020.
“The way I’m moving about now, in general, I feel unbelievable.”
