WWE’s first pay-per-view (premium live event) of 2022 began in a big way, when the Usos and the New Day went to war in the latest chapter of their great rivalry.
The Usos would retain their SmackDown Tag Team Championship in the end, pinning Kofi Kingston with the Dudley Boys’ iconic 3-D finishing move (named 1D for ‘One & Done’).
The move rose to infamy thanks to Bubba Ray and D-Von Dudley in the 90s. Both of the WWE Hall of Famers took to Twitter to react to the Usos hitting their famous move.
D-Von Dudley, who works as a producer for WWE, tweeted first, saying:
Fantastic match between the Usos and the new day!!! Great way to end the match with a 3-D fantastic job boys …. Oh testify!!!!!
Later in the show Bubba (Bully) Ray chimed in, saying:
Dear @WWEUsos Nothin but xoxo, Bubba #WWEDayOne@BustedOpenRadio
The Usos took to their Twitter account after the show to thank the Dudleys for their love, saying:
Best Tag team finisher in the business.…thanks for he blessings uce. @TestifyDVon @bullyray5150
