Dustin Rhodes Would Love To Coach For ROH

Dustin Rhodes Would Love To Coach For ROH AEW

Dustin Rhodes has discussed the uncertainty surrounding the future of ROH.

The next ROH event, Death Before Dishonor, will take place on July 23. It will be the second ROH pay-per-view produced under the Tony Khan banner.

Speaking on Sports Guy’s Talk Wrestling, Dustin noted that he has no idea what Khan is planning for the future of ROH, but would love to be involved with the product.

When asked whether he’ll have a role for upcoming pay-per-view, Dustin said:

“I’m not sure because I wasn’t at the last one. But, you know, if Tony needs me to go and coach some of the matches, I would love to,” said Rhodes on  “Samoa Joe’s back, you’re gonna see Samoa Joe, which is a big fan favorite. I love him to death, man. I’ve watched him for a long, long time. Anything that he does is always special. So that’s going to be a special moment for him.

“Ring of Honor is just kind of getting back started out right. We’ve had the one pay-per-view, it did well. Getting ready to have the second one here. I’m anxious to see where it goes, where it leads, as far as if it’s ever gonna go (back to a) weekly basis or TV or what. It’s still kind of — I have no idea what Tony’s planning.”

Tony Khan reportedly doesn’t have a TV deal in place for ROH following Death Before Dishonor. Four title matches have been announced for next weekend’s event so far:

  • Wheeler Yuta (c) vs. Daniel Garcia – ROH Pure Championship
  • FTR (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler) (c) vs. The Briscoes (Mark & Jay Briscoe) – ROH Tag Team Championship
  • Samoa Joe (c) vs. Jay Lethal – ROH Television Championship
  • Mercedes Martinez (c) vs. Serena Deeb – ROH Women’s World Championship

Dustin Rhodes last wrestled on July 1 edition of AEW Rampage, competing in the Royal Rampage match.
