Dustin Rhodes Gives Thoughts On Cody Rhodes’ WrestleMania 39 Defeat

Dustin Rhodes Gives Thoughts On Cody Rhodes’ WrestleMania 39 Defeat WWE

Among the continuous chatter surrounding WWE’s finish to the WrestleMania 39 main event, numerous ex-WWE stars are of the belief that Cody Rhodes should have defeated Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship, while on the other hand there are many others have disagreed with the notion.

While current WWE employees such as Road Dogg Jesse James disagreeing with Cody winning falls directly toward the official company line, a much more noteworthy opinion is that of Cody’s own flesh and blood Dustin Rhodes.

While Dustin joining the pro-Cody winning camp would of course be expected, perhaps surprisingly that isn’t the case at all according to the man himself.

Speaking to Busted Open Radio, Dustin would admit that while he was initially disappointed by WWE’s decision, he has since come around to their way of thinking.

“They’re making him pay for it now,”

“They’re making him earn it, and I like that. I do. I like that, because once you put the title on him, where are you going?”

Dustin would also take time to express how proud of his brother he is despite his loss at Mania.

“I’m extremely proud of him,”

“I wish him the best, and he’s going to be world champion — I know it. I don’t know when, but he’s going to be world champion.”

While the date of Cody’s inevitable rematch with Reigns is currently unclear, for now he looks set for a first-ever clash with Brock Lesnar at WWE Backlash on May 6.
