The Sandman made an appearance at ROH Final Battle, helping Flip Gordon defeat Bully Ray. Gordon and Bully Ray competed in a bloody “I Quit” match when the lights went out and The Sandman appeared with his Singapore Cane in hand.
Colt Cabana, Silas Young, and Cheeseburger had all gotten involved before Sandman emerged to settle the match. Sandman spit beer is Bully Ray’s face and supplied Flip Gordon with his cane to beat Bully Ray into submission.

Sandman had wrestled for Ring of Honor in November in a “Loser Gets Caned” tag team match. He and Gordon lost the match to Bully Ray and Silas Young, resulting in Gordon being caned. To date, that was Sandman’s only match in Ring of Honor.
Sandman is best known for his work in the original ECW. His run as a beer-drinking badass is what some consider the precursor to the ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin character. He had a memorable moment in the Hammerstein Ballroom at One Night Stand in 2005 where the live crowd sang his entrance theme: the iconic “Enter Sandman” by Metallica.
It is currently unknown if The Sandman will continue to appear for Ring of Honor going forward.
