Eddie Kingston teamed with his friend Jon Moxley to challenge then-AEW World Tag Team Champions the Young Bucks at the AEW Double or Nothing pay-per-view event last May.
Kingston recently spoke with talkSPORT, where he revealed that the match at Double or Nothing was the first time he truly felt like he ‘belonged’ in AEW.
He said:
“After that match with Moxley against The Young Bucks (at Double or Nothing), for the first time, I felt like I belonged in AEW. It was because of that match. And also because we had 5,000 people in Daily’s Place and that was my first time in front of an AEW crowd really.”
Kingston continued on, reflecting on a comment that Moxley made to him prior to them making their entrance for the big title match. He added:
“Before Jon kicked the door open, he looked over at me and said ‘get ready to be over.’ I said ‘what did you say motherf*****?’ And he kicked the door open and we just went! It was definitely a career highlight. But being in there with Jon? Come on, man, that’s my boy. It’s huge. He’s the man. He’s my man.”
Kingston is set for action on this week’s New Year’s Smash episode of AEW Dynamite, where he teams with Santana & Ortiz against Daniel Garcia and 2point0 in six-man tag team action.
