Edge Addresses WWE WrestleMania Crowd Reaction Concerns

WWE star Edge has discussed WWE concerns surrounding the unpredictable crowd reaction at WrestleMania 37.

A year into the COVID-19 pandemic, it has been a long time since fans were able to sit ringside for a WWE show. With WrestleMania 37 set to have a live audience, this will be the first time since early 2020 that fans will be able to make their voices heard during WWE programming.

Edge has recently discussed the unpredictability of the returning crowds. Speaking with APP.com, Edge pointed out that WWE have no idea how fans will react to the likes of “The Tribal Chief” Roman Reigns.

Admitting that WWE were kind of flying blind, Edge noted that creative are trying to craft stories with no idea how fans will react to the chosen beats.

Here is the full quote:

““Right now, as a company, we’re all kind of flying blind because we have these stories and we have this creative but we don’t know what the actual reaction is going to be. When we walk out there, who knows how they’re going to react?”

“An audience has never seen this (version of) Roman Reigns, and I think this is the Roman Reigns they’ve wanted to see for a long time. So how are they going to react? We don’t know. How are they going to react to me at this stage and kind of flipping the switch on finding the old Rated-R Superstar?

“Who knows. I think the bottom line is you’ve just got to hope they react. And I’d like to think, as starved as we all are just for entertainment and a walk back into whatever our new normal is, I’d like to think that’s going to be a pretty ravenous crowd, reaction-wise.”

Towards the end of last month, Daniel Bryan was added to the scheduled Universal Championship match. Edge also turned heel, laying out Bryan and Reigns with a chair on SmackDown.

According to a recent report, these decisions were made because WWE are expecting an extreme reaction from the WrestleMania crowd towards Edge.

Also in the news, Edge has finally reacted to his best friend, Christian Cage, joining AEW.
