Edge Comments On Triple H Taking Over WWE Creative WWE

Triple H taking over WWE creative following Vince McMahon’s retirement is still a hot topic in the wrestling world a month after the fact, as changes are continuing to be seen on WWE television.

Several returns have taken place, both from released stars and previously absent stars, one of which was WWE Hall of Famer Edge making his return at SummerSlam.

Edge is set to wrestle his first match in his hometown of Toronto on Monday’s episode of Raw, when he faces Damian Priest of the Judgment Day.

Edge spoke to Bleacher Report, where he detailed how the match on Raw came to be. Edge said that he pitched the match to Triple H after he realised a show was coming up in Toronto.

He said:

“I sat down with Paul [Leveseque] and I saw that Toronto was coming. We have this storyline with The Judgment Day. It felt like the perfect opportunity to do what we kind of used to do, which was promote a Raw match almost a month in advance. I thought it seemed like the perfect opportunity and a special moment, too,”

Edge expressed his excitement for the match, before continuing on to express his excitement regarding the new WWE regime.

He said:

“I’ve had a lot of creative input and that’s having 25 years of equity with the company. In that regard, it doesn’t change a lot, but what’s so fun to see is that it’s going dressing room-wide now and that’s really cool. I think everyone feels super excited and stoked and just ready to see how certain things go. You can already see that’s happening. I think Paul looks at things like a fan because he still is a fan of this, just like I am. It’s bringing back Karrion Kross and Dakota [Kai]. It’s a really fun time to be involved with the company.”

Edge and Triple H were rivals on WWE television for years in the 2000’s, so the thought of Edge now having to work for Triple H is funny.

Also set for this week’s Raw in Toronto is the Women’s Tag Team Championship tournament semi-final, pitting Alexa Bliss and Asuka against IYO SKY and Dakota Kai.
