WWE Hall of Famer Edge was forced to retire from wrestling back in 2011 due to a series of neck issues, being told that he will never be able to wrestle again.
Edge then defied the odds, making his return to in-ring competition after 9 years away in the 2020 Royal Rumble match, kickstarting his second run, being able to end his career on his own terms.
Edge spoke about his current run in an interview with Bleacher Report, hyping up this week’s WWE Raw in Toronto, Canada. Edge admitted that he is enjoying his current run, because he knows that the end is ‘in sight’.
He said:
“This run, I feel I’ve been able to do some of that. To me, that has been one more layer on this cake that was already tasty anyway. I am enjoying and soaking in every moment with the complete realization that it’s going to end soon. I know the end is in sight, and I can see it, and because of that, it makes me enjoy it more.”
Edge is set for his first match in his hometown of Toronto on this week’s episode of Raw, taking on Damian Priest of the Judgment Day.
Edge isn’t the only Toronto-based WWE Hall of Famer set to appear, as WWE has announced that Trish Stratus will also be appearing on the show.
