Elias Hints At Potential WWE WrestleMania Plans

Elias recently appeared as a special guest on Busted Open Radio earlier this week and talked about who he wanted to work a programme with in WWE. His answer may have given a hint as to what he is doing at WrestleMania 35:

“Well, listen. It’s to going sound kind of crazy, but Elias is such a character, in a day and age where I feel like we’ve got a lot of wrestlers, and that’s not a good… you know, I’m not saying one thing is better than the other, but for me, I think a big character like a John Cena… like a feud with John Cena would be fantastic. A feud with The Undertaker would be classic.

And I know I’m pointing myself in the realm of these guys who basically have these legendary status, I understand that, but that is kind of the thing I need on the main roster right now. You know, I’m not sure if there’s anybody that kind of gets me at that level.”

Elias is currently scheduled to be the featured musical act at WrestleMania 35 on Sunday and is not set for a match. In recent weeks he has been plagued by interruptions during his sets on Raw, which is expected to pay off at ‘Mania with the biggest interruption yet.

Cena and The Undertaker – both of whom are expected to be at the show and have not been announced – are the leading candidates to ruin Elias’s night.

At WrestleMania last year Elias interrupted John Cena as he was waiting for The Undertaker to answer his challenge so Cena interrupting Elias would be a nice full circle. The two have also had issues on and off on Raw when Cena has been around.

There have been hints towards Undertaker too. Elias began using The Dead Man’s “old school” rope walk around Royal Rumble time, which was surely intentional, and being interrupted on the grand stage by the man so closely tied to WrestleMania would be poetic. With Undertaker set to wrestle in Saudi Arabia in a few months time, a match with Elias at that show could very well be on the cards as a follow up.
