One of the most awe-inspiring finishing moves in modern WWE has been the Eclipse. Ember Moon showed off the move for the first time when she arrived in NXT back in 2016. Now, she has revealed where the move came from.
Moon recently spoke with Sportskeeda where she said her friend came up with the move prior to his retirement. She then said she needed something that would set her apart from the rest in WWE. Here is the quote:
“My friend, James, he actually created the move and he retired and I was like look, I said I need something that’s gonna set me above the rest that is gonna keep people in seats because at that point in time, the women’s revolution had not really started… So it was like, ‘I wanna make these people stay in their seats, I want to make them watch what we do because it’s not fair to us’. So my friend was like ‘I’m going to retire this year’, I was like ‘teach me the way’ (laughs).”
Ember Moon returned to NXT back in October and most recently competed in the Dusty Rhodes Classic alongside Shotzi Blackheart. The pair made it to the final where they lost to Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez.
