Enzo Amore On Why ROH Angle Failed

Former WWE star Enzo Amore has commented on why he believes the angle to bring him and Big Cass into Ring of Honor in 2019 failed.

Amore and Cass appeared at the ROH/NJPW G1 Supercard show, but the way it was presented made people question whether it was an angle or they had legitimately crashed the show.

The follow-up was a promo on social media, and the duo looked set to join Ring of Honor, but nothing ever came of it.

Speaking on Busted Open, Amore has explained why he thinks it all fell through, saying:

“Why it didn’t work at that time is because there is a 10% boisterous audience of marks on Twitter that light it up and tag people. They get people scared because they type and say the wrong thing or tag this person or ‘he’s got these issues and backstage heat.’ I cut this promo after and I got this ‘iggy’ saying, ‘go off the rails, lose your s**t, make everyone think this is a shoot.’ Ok, no problem. Sure enough, the world really thought I was a jerk off and then I wasn’t booked or I wasn’t brought in to do something miraculous, that we didn’t pull it off and somehow the suits and ties that were involved — that I never even spoke to, no one called me to thank me or got on the phone and said ‘that was a great job.’ Nothing. They just said, ‘we f**ked up.’ No you didn’t, you idiot. You have never in your entire existence in a wrestling promotion been spoken about more in your life. You just dropped the ball! When you do that and don’t follow through, you leave such a sour taste in my mouth that when I walk away I go, ‘this is what the f**k the Indies are? This is wrestling outside of WWE?'”

Enzo Amore, who goes by nZo nowadays, has recently resurfaced, most notably on the Talk N’ Shop A Mania show that aired on August 1.

He also recently gave an update on Cass, now known as CazXL, after he’s had various issues since leaving WWE, saying that Cass is in the best shape of his life.
