Former WWE Cruiserweight Champion Enzo Amore was fired by WWE on January 23, 2018 after a series of sexual assault allegations were made against him.
Speaking about his time with WWE on the ‘Keepin It 100 With Konnan’ podcast, Amore revealed that he could have been fired in 2017 if he would have disobeyed Vince McMahon’s strict instructions during an episode of Raw.
Amore recalled that on the September 11 2017, episode of Raw, Miz was told to cut a promo on MizTV referencing some backstage heat Enzo had gained, resulting in him being thrown off the WWE tour bus.
Enzo somewhat shockingly revealed that WWE told him if he responded to the promo in anyway, he would have been fired:
“They put me in the ring with The Miz who aired me out on all the dirt sheet articles that had been coming out about me, and they just had The Miz bury me and I was told I couldn’t say a f*cking word back, or I’d be fired so, if I said something, I would’ve gotten fired.”
During the interview, Enzo also revealed that his run on 205 Live as a cruiserweight was the highlight of his WWE career.
