Following his recent appearance on NXT, Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff has addressed his WWE contract status.
On the December 3 edition of WWE NXT, Eric Bischoff made an appearance to moderate an in-ring face-to-face confrontation between Trick Williams and Ridge Holland ahead of NXT Deadline.
This led many fans to question if Bischoff had signed a legends contract ahead of his WWE return on the show.
However, Bischoff went on to have a prominent on-screen role on the MLW One Shot event later that same week on December 5.
Speaking on his 83 Weeks podcast, Eric Bischoff addressed the speculation that he is on WWE’s payroll. He said:
“I just did two WWE episodes, one on NXT and one on WWE on the A&E network. 24 hours later, I’m on an MLW show, who by the way was in a lawsuit with WWE.”
“Do you think that if I was under contract with WWE, I don’t even have a legends agreement with WWE. I can’t wait for the back paycheck to show up.”
“I don’t have a written agreement with anybody, I don’t even have a handshake deal with anybody. If they call and I’m available, and it sounds fun, I’ll show up.”
“That goes to everybody. If TNA were to call me and say, ‘Hey, we’re doing something, we’d like you to show up.’ If it fit into my schedule and it sounded fun, I’ll do it.”
It remains to be seen if or when Eric Bischoff will make another appearance for the company at the time of this writing.
