WWE Hall Of Famer ‘Mindboggled’ By How Tony Khan Handled CM Punk AEW

It seems to be the story that the wrestling world just can’t move on from.

Since the infamous backstage altercation following the AEW All Out media scrum, wrestling names past and present have been taking sides or planting themselves on the fence.

But it isn’t CM Punk’s actions that are being commented on. This time, it is Tony Khan.

Khan notably was present throughout Punk’s muffin-fuelled tirade as Punk laid into the Elite, Adam Page and Colt Cabana.

WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff has described Tony Khan’s handling of the situation as mind-boggling during a recent interview with 10 Count.

Bischoff said:

“Tony’s not a physical guy…

“In terms of taking control of the situation… Tony had a mic, he had his own mic, he could have grabbed that mic stood up and said, ‘This conference is over, thank you all very much,’ and shut down the audio, boom, it’s over. Then sort it out.

“But to sit there and be thrashed and slayed like a fish by a guy that you’re writing a check to for five times more money than he’s really worth is mind-boggling to me.”

This is not the first time that Eric Bischoff has levelled criticism at Tony Khan.

The two have previously exchanged words online over their differences in opinion.

Eric Bischoff has described Khan’s booking for AEW as “excuses for matches.”

Bischoff has also been vocal about his thoughts on CM Punk, describing him as  “old” and “fragile,” and claiming that AEW ratings ‘flatlined’ after the initial buzz from Punk’s return died down.
