Eric Bischoff Not Involved In First Bischoff Era SmackDown Live

Yes, you read that right. Eric Bischoff did not attend, and had no input in the booking of last night’s SmackDown Live, despite the show being slated as the first of the Heyman/Bischoff era.

Former WCW President Bischoff was hired as Executive Director of SmackDown Live several weeks ago, but it was reported that he would not start in the position until after Extreme Rules.

However, the Wrestling Observer is reporting that Bischoff was not in attendance, and had absolutely no input in anything that happened on the show.

Bischoff moved his family to Connecticut this past week in order to be closer to WWE HQ, so perhaps he was busy unwrapping his trinkets and didn’t have time to go to work.

It was thought that Bischoff and Heyman would start implementing their ideas coming out of Extreme Rules this past Sunday, and that the pair would start with clean slates.

Heyman was at Raw this past week in both an on-screen and backstage capacity, but perhaps Bischoff is using up all of his annual leave to try and learn something about modern wrestling before he starts.
