Eric Bischoff Rips WWE Legend On Podcast

Eric Bischoff talks about a lot of things on his 83 Weeks Podcast each and every week. This week one of the topics was Bret “The Hitman” Hart, who recently appeared on Bound for Glory.

Bischoff, who is set to appear on AEW: Dynamite this week, did not share a glowing review of Bret. Here’s what Bischoff had to say about the WWE Hall of Famer:

“This is typical of Bret Hart then and now. If Bret doesn’t have somebody to bury, criticize or blame, he can’t really have much of a conversation. He doesn’t have much to say. It didn’t resonate with me, I think partially because WWE, Vince McMahon, federal court, indicted, drug distribution, goes back a long time. That is not the WWE of today, but we are going back to 1993. Let’s talk about drug abuse in WWE back in 1993. Let’s talk about the steroid abuse and the allegations and indictments. I think Bret was probably trying to clear the smoke in his own room by creating it in somebody else’s as much as anything. To add to that, that is Bret. I’ll actually use his words in this context. I don’t mean to say anything bad about anybody, but Bret has a tendency to be a winy b****. I told you a few months ago, I said I was going to take the high road. But he continues to rehash this negative nonsense and bury people. It doesn’t make me angry. That’s Bret. Whether he is burying Ric Flair or whether he is burying Mick Foley or Vince McMahon or Eric Bischoff or Bill Goldberg, he is just a negative, miserable guy. That’s how he goes through his daily life. He was doing that in 1993 and he is still doing it today.”

Ouch. Negative, miserable guy. Bret’s biggest rival was Shawn Michaels. Bischoff also talked about if WCW came close to signing HBK:

“Shawn had a reputation for being difficult to work with. When you reach a certain level of success in the entertainment business, there is a tendency to become a prima donna. I think that was Shawn Michaels’ reputation. I don’t remember anybody even suggesting for a minute to bring Shawn in. I like Shawn Michaels and I have a ton of respect for him. I think Shawn would say that during this period of time that he was distracted with a lot of bad habits and probably wasn’t at the top of his game mentally or emotionally. You have to remember WCW in 1993 didn’t have a lot of cash laying around. There was nobody in 1993 in Turner Broadcasting, Ted Turner included, that was going to write any big checks. WCW was broken in 1993.”
