Former WWE Executive Says Vince McMahon ‘Out Of Touch’ Claims Are Internet Wrestling Chatter WWE

Eric Bischoff has now shared his honest thoughts on the argument that Vince McMahon is out of touch, following speculation about McMahon’s WWE involvement.

Vince McMahon initially announced his retirement in July 2022, amid an investigation into ‘hush pact’ allegations.

He returned to the board of directors at the beginning of this year, shortly before Chairwoman and co-CEO Stephanie McMahon announced her resignation.

Stephanie’s departure and reports that Vince has returned to the office have fuelled rumors that the Executive Chairman will soon take over creative fully from Triple H.

On his 83 Weeks podcast, Eric Bischoff addressed the claim that Vince McMahon is out of touch, calling it ‘internet wrestling chatter’.

Bischoff said:

“The whole Vince is old and out of touch thing, you can argue that maybe creatively because you don’t like Vince’s vision of what wrestling should be, but it doesn’t mean that he is not in control of his faculties or that he’s missed a beat.

“I think that’s internet wrestling chatter because people aren’t happy with what they’re seeing on television. ‘Oh, it’s because he’s too old.’ But no ageism, right?”

There is reportedly at least a ‘feeling’ in WWE that Vince McMahon could make his return to TV at some point soon.

Vince returned to the board of directors as WWE started to receive advice regarding the possibility of a sale.
