Ethan Page The ‘Perfect’ Partner Declares WWE Main Roster Star WWE

Ethan Page is the ‘perfect’ partner for a WWE star, who wants to see him called up to the main roster, despite being stuck in their attempts.

A former AEW star, Page made his WWE debut in May of last year, appearing on NXT and rapidly entering the championship picture.

The current NXT North American Champion, Page is set to team up with Chelsea Green at the AAA Alianzas tour event at the Showcenter Complex on November 2 to challenge Mr Iguana and La Hiedra for the AAA Mixed Tag Team Championship.

This match is off the back of their tag team pairing at Heatwave, with Green having previously pitched Page for a main roster call-up.

Speaking on Gabby AF, Green opened up about their partnership, revealing they hadn’t properly met before working together on NXT, saying:

“I had never met this man in my life. I had always heard about Ethan Page, obviously, we’re Canadian, so we always know about Canadians on the independent scene. So I always knew about him.

“I don’t want to say he was coming up at the same time as me because he was on the indies for so much longer than me, he’s been wrestling for like 20 years, but as he was seeing his rise so was I, but funnily enough we never wrestled together, we were never on the same shows, we never crossed paths.

“Because I preach,’Go home and do something else other than wrestling,’ I really didn’t know anything about him. I didn’t do my research.

“So they called me and they were like, ‘Hey you’re going to come to NXT next week,’ and I was like, ‘Sure, say less.’ As I was on my way in I was like, ‘What am I doing?’ I thought maybe I had a match, and they were like, ‘Oh you’re actually going to come out for Ethan Page’s promo.’ I did not think anything of it.

“Then I was backstage, and he walked out to start talking, and we really didn’t interact before that.

“We had a quick rehearsal but not even really, we didn’t really get to know each other, we were kind of awkward because it’s weird – when you’re two women, that’s one thing trying to figure out your dynamic, that’s already weird if you don’t look alike or have the same character, it’s weird. But for a man and a woman that’s different because there’s so many things going on that you need to figure out. And usually you would have time or you’re partners with that person or you’re literally spouses, or something, but we had no connection.

“So he walks out and he starts talking and I’m like, ‘Holy s**t… is he? He’s me.’ I get in the ring and I’m talking and I can feel out of my peripherals, I can feel his facial expressions and I can feel his energy, and he leans over like this and I’m like, ‘He’s perfect.’

“He’s exactly what we’ve been missing that we didn’t even know we were missing. And then after that we both immediately knew this was something, and we just continued to build and learn that we had the same goals in mind, that we had the same work ethic and drive.”

Chelsea Green would go on to explain how she’s stuck trying to get Page onto the WWE main roster as she can’t “unsee” their partnership, saying:

“It has been way better than I could have ever imagined, and I have been so stuck on trying to get him to the main roster because I can’t unsee this duo and this group now with the girls too.

“I think there’s something special about seeing two totally different performers come together and manage to work so in sync and so in unison. I just never thought that would happen because I had already done that with my husband. It was harder with my husband than it is with Ethan, because you have to go home with your husband every night, you have to speak to each other the way you would at home and you have to relearn the way you speak to each other at work…

“…It’s been a really, really cool working and learning experience, and it’s really opened up WWE’s eyes to like, ‘Oh we can do this, they can work together.'”

During the interview, Green would also praise Maxxine Dupri, sharing an insight into their real-life friendship.
