Eva Marie Reveals Initial WWE Plans For Doudrop Storyline

Eva Marie has discussed her recent partnership with Doudrop, revealing original plans for their WWE storyline.

In June, Doudrop (formerly Piper Niven) debuted on Raw as Eva Marie’s protégé. At SummerSlam, Doudrop turned her back on Marie, following Marie’s match with Alexa Bliss.

Speaking on Oral Sessions with Renee Paquette, Marie praised Doudrop, noting that she handpicked the forner NXT UK star to work with her. Explaining that she and her protégé were set to take over the women’s division together, Eva Marie said:

“Doudrop is a savage. She’s phenomenal. Don’t get it twisted, I handpicked her from the NXT UK because she is that bomb. She’s incredible. I love working with her, she’s phenomenal. Just an incredible athlete. I’m really fortunate because when we first met, we exchanged messages prior to meeting in person. And we just hit it off. We knew we were going to work together, we just didn’t know what it was going to look like yet.

“It basically was kind of simple. You know how WWE is; you think that a lot of storylines and things are going to go a certain way, and it completely transforms and goes a whole other direction. So really the gist of it all was that I was going to have a protégé, and we were going to take over the locker room and the division.”

On this week’s episode of Raw, Alexa Bliss confronted the new Raw Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair, teasing a future title match.

At SummerSlam, Becky Lynch returned to WWE, defeating Bianca Belair for the SmackDown Women’s Title with just two moves. A new report has revealed that Lynch’s original SummerSlam plans didn’t have her winning the championship.
