There is reportedly ‘excitement’ backstage in WWE about an upcoming show location after the official announcement was made today.
WWE announced today that the upcoming New Year’s Evil special episode of NXT will take place at The Shrine Expo Hall in Los Angeles on Tuesday, January 7.
The show will feature the winners of the Iron Survivor Challenge matches from NXT Deadline getting their title shots.
That means New Year’s Evil will see Giulia challenge Roxanne Perez for the NXT Women’s Championship, while Oba Femi challenges Trick Williams for the NXT Championship.
According to a report coming from PWInsider regarding the show, there is behind-the-scenes “excitement about producing NXT out of the legendary venue”.
Also per the report, “several NXT officials and talents have been traveling to LA to assist with planning out the logistics for the taping.”
NXT New Year’s Evil will notably be taking place a day after the WWE Raw debut on Netflix, which will also take place in Los Angeles at the Intuit Dome.
