So much for beaten champions not getting automatic rematches in the “New Era” WWE.
In the opening segment of SmackDown, The Miz cut an, ahem, heartfelt promo about how being tag champion with Shane McMahon moved his father to say he was proud of him and that he loved him for the first time.
I guess he was not watching when Miz was the WWE Champion and headlined WrestleMania . . .
Anyway, Miz implored Shane to employ nepotism and give the duo a rematch against The Usos, having lost the titles to them two nights earlier (fairly) at Elimination Chamber.
Shane quite rightly said he couldn’t do that but a promo from The Usos caused him to reconsider and he made the rematch for Fastlane in just under three weeks time. Because we all needed to see THAT match again.
“Ya dig?”
