Final Viewership Revealed For May 7 SmackDown

As it is once again Monday the final viewership for last week’s WWE SmackDown has been revealed. This was the show that saw the return of Jimmy Uso and focused on his relationship with Roman Reigns.

Showbuzz Daily reported the final viewership of the program earlier today. SmackDown reportedly drew an average of 2.282 million viewers for their May 7 episode. Showbuzz Daily also reported ratings for the key 18-49 male demographic as SmackDown drew a 6.0 rating.

As stated previously, Jimmy Uso was the focus of this show. He was involved in the opening segment, closing segment, and several segments throughout the show. His allegiance to Roman Reigns and Jey Uso was called into question and appears to be the main story of SmackDown going forward.

This was also promoted as “Throwback” SmackDown. While there was some light branding throughout the night, little of note happened in regards to the retro theme.

The number one contender for Roman Reigns’ Universal Championship was also decided on the show. Cesaro was able to defeat Seth Rollins in their WrestleMania rematch, a match Teddy Long had made a top contender’s match.
