The final match in the ‘Last Time Is Now’ tournament to determine the final WWE opponent of John Cena is now confirmed.
The field of 16 tournament participants is now down to two after the semi-finals took place on tonight’s December 1 episode of WWE Raw.
Heading into tonight, the semi-finals were confirmed to be Jey Uso vs LA Knight, and GUNTHER vs Solo Sikoa.
Uso had beaten The Miz and Rusev to get to this stage, while Knight had beaten Zack Ryder and The Miz, after Miz was given a second chance due to an injury to Sheamus.
Meanwhile, GUNTHER‘s path to the semi-final had seen him pick up wins against Je’Von Evans and Carmelo Hayes, while Sikoa got past Dolph Ziggler and Penta.
Uso vs Knight was the first of the semi-finals to take place tonight, with Knight picking up the win.
Later in the show, GUNTHER vs Sikoa took place and it was GUNTHER who scored the win.
The final of the tournament with Knight facing GUNTHER will take place on this week’s December 5 episode of WWE SmackDown.
Then, Cena’s final match with him facing the tournament winner will take place at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13.
As announced by Cena himself, that show will also feature some main roster vs NXT showcase matches.
