WWE rebranded WALTER as ‘Gunther’ on this week’s (January 18) episode of NXT 2.0, which has come with a lot of criticism from fans.
WALTER is the latest in a long list of names who have received a name change upon moving to the NXT brand. One of which includes former two-time NXT Champion Finn Balor.
Gunther officially updated his social media handles to use his new name, which he posted a picture of himself on.
Balor seemed to try and calm the criticism down, simply responding:
Everyone hated FINN too!
While Finn may be correct in that peoplewere not used to his name change, it’s not quite like they planned on naming Balor after a literal Nazi, which was the cause for most of the outrage.
Everyone hated FINN too!
