Finn Balor had a tremendous match with Kyle O’Reilly at NXT Takeover 31 but it came at a cost. It was announced after the show that he was headed to the hospital to get an x-ray on his jaw. Balor has now revealed his jaw is officially broken in two places.
Balor broke the news on Twitter today, saying the full story will be coming tonight on NXT. This is the second NXT Champion in a row who may be forced to give up the title due to injury.

Balor was able to retain his title in the match but the match ended abruptly. It had been previously reported that Balor had called for an early ending to the match with the indication being that it was due to the injury. Now, that is a pretty safe assumption to make.
Balor won the NXT Championship in a match against Adam Cole at NXT Super Tuesday on September 8. This was his first title defence. Prior to this reign, Karrion Kross had to relinquish the title after injuring his shoulder in his match with Keith Lee.
