Finn Balor has commented on his recent WWE main roster return, explaining why he has re-emerged on SmackDown.
During the July 16 episode of SmackDown, Finn Balor showed up to attack Sami Zayn. Balor has since stated that he’s on the Blue Brand to win championships.
Speaking on WWE Talking Smack, Balor recalled all the gold he won during his time with the company. Telling fans that he plans to take them for a ride, Balor said:
“Obviously there’s always a plan. I went to NXT, I became NXT Champion. I moved to Raw, became the first Universal Champion. Became two-time Intercontinental Champion, went back to NXT and won the NXT Championship. So, the reason that I’m here on SmackDown is to win Championships.
“Obviously, I’m eternally grateful for the fans’ support throughout the pandemic. My message, ‘Buckle your seatbelts, we’re going for a ride.'”
Excluding his Superstar Spectacle showing in January, Balor hasn’t had a televised match as part of the main roster since he lost to The Fiend at SummerSlam 2019.
