The Judgment Day in recent months have really been given a new lease on life under the new WWE regime. The trio of Finn Balor, Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley recently recruited Dominik Mysterio into their ranks, and they have taken aim at many other top stars on Raw, such as AJ Styles, Rey Mysterio and Matt Riddle.
While Balor, Priest and Dominik are great on their own, the presence of Rhea Ripley really brings the whole Judgment Day presentation together, and they were not the same for the month or two they were without her during the summer.
Finn Balor spoke to the New York Post ahead of his big I Quit match against Edge at tonight’s WWE Extreme Rules premium live event in Philadelphia, where he was asked about the story he has been telling since he took over the group from Edge back in June.
He said:
“It seems to be moving at a decent pace and all the people involved are excited. The layers that you mentioned with Dominik and Rhea have added another element of mystique to The Judgment Day. Me and Priest aren’t fully sure what’s going on between the two of them either. It keeps me and Priest guessing too. We’re working as a unit. I feel like the experience me and Priest bring along with the youth of Rhea and Dom is something very, very, new. I don’t think it’s ever been done before.”
He was then asked about Rhea Ripley, speaking about the time she was away with an injury, and what presence she adds to the group. Balor said that it’s just due to Rhea having the ‘It-Factor’.
He explained:
“It’s such a hard question to answer. She has that it-factor that you can’t explain. I don’t think she realizes how much of that it-factor she has. She’s so young. She has such incredible presence. She’s an incredible performer. She has so much potential that I’m sure she will reach. But to answer that question is impossible. It’s just really unique to see it and feel it and witness it firsthand to kind of go ‘ah I get it.’ It’s not something that I can explain to you and you can understand. You just have to see it to believe it.”
Ripley hasn’t wrestled since June, when she defeated Liv Morgan, Doudrop and Alexa Bliss in a four-way to earn a shot at Bianca Belair’s Raw Women’s Championship at Money in the Bank, which never happened due to Ripley getting injured, with Carmella replacing her in the match.
