The first match for the upcoming AEW Grand Slam pay-per-view event in Australia has been confirmed on tonight’s Dynamite show.
AEW’s first-ever show in Australia is set to take place on February 15, and we now know the first match that will take place on the show.
Last week, it was announced that the first-ever Women’s Casino Gauntlet match would take place on tonight’s Maximum Carnage episode of Dynamite, with the winner set to challenge Mariah May for the AEW Women’s World Championship at Grand Slam Australia.
The Gauntlet saw Toni Storm come out on top, besting Kris Statlander, Jamie Hayter, Julia Hart, Harley Cameron, Willow Nightingale and the debuting Megan Bayne to earn the rematch for her title in her home country on February 15.
Toni lost the title to Mariah May back in Mariah’s home country at All In London last August.
Toni made her return on the Winter Is Coming episode of AEW Dynamite in December, returning to her original gimmick in the company.
