The first holder of a recently announced new WWE Championship was crowned today ahead of WWE SummerSlam tomorrow night.

WWE announced it’s ‘Independent Development’ program back in October 2024, a program designed to help independent wrestlers prepare for a future career in WWE.

Back in February, Triple H announced the creation of the WWE ID Championships, one for the men and one for the women, that would be crowned in tournaments across various independent promotions.

The final of the WWE ID Women’s Championship Tournament took place at tonight’s GCW event, when a Triple Threat took place between WWE ID talents Zayda Steel, Kylie Rae and Zara Zakher.

In the end, it was Kylie Rae who ended up scoring the victory, crowning her the inaugural WWE ID Women’s Champion.

Also on the show, the first-ever Men’s ID Champion was crowned, when Cappuccino Jones and Jack Cartwheel faced off to crown the first champion.
