The first match that was taped for a brand new WWE show has been revealed during tonight’s NXT tapings in Orlando.
A competition show on A&E was recently announced titled ‘WWE LFG (Legends & Future Greats)’.
The show is set to feature in-ring matches as well as a behind-the-scenes look at “rising talent vying for a coveted WWE contract while being mentored by WWE Legends such as Paul “Triple H” Levesque, Undertaker, Shawn Michaels and Booker T”.
WWE’s website describes the show as follows:
“WWE LFG” will offer viewers an inside look at the rigorous training process, featuring iconic WWE Legends such as Paul “Triple H” Levesque and Shawn Michaels and weekly regular coaches Undertaker, Booker T, Mickie James and Bubba Ray Dudley as they mentor a new generation in weekly matches on their quest to become the next WWE Superstars. Executive producers for WWE are Paul “Triple H” Levesque, Lee Fitting, Ben Houser, Shawn Michaels and Jeremy Borash. Elaine Frontain Bryant and Brad Abramson serve as Executive producers for A&E.
Before tonight’s NXT TV taping, the first match for this new show was taped, featuring Performance Center recruits Anthony Luke against Elijah Holyfield.
Luke is a former San Diego State University defensive lineman, and also the real-life boyfriend of current Raw star Maxxine Dupri.
Holyfield played in the NFL for the Carolina Panthers, Philadelphia Eagles and Cincinnati Bengals, and is also the son of boxing legend Evander Holyfield.
We’ll keep you posted with any further updates on the new LFG show as they emerge.
