First Match Of WWE Championship Tournament Announced

The first match of an upcoming tournament to determine the inaugural WWE ID Champions has been announced.

On February 18, Triple H unveiled the men’s and women’s WWE ID Championships, with the new titles set to be contested between the prospects signed to the company’s Independent Development program.

In that announcement Triple H revealed that the new champions would be determined via a tournament, which was later announced to be beginning at two independent events during WrestleMania 41 week in Las Vegas, NV on April 16 & 18.

The first of these two events will be hosted by Game Changer Wrestling on April 16, and as announced by WWE ID on Twitter, we now know the first tournament match we will see at that event.

The first opening round match announced will see the first-ever WWE ID signing Zayda Steel take on perhaps the WWE ID prospect with the most experience – Kylie Rae.

As of now there have been no other matches announced for the WWE ID Championship tournament, but we will provide further updates when more information becomes known.
