Former WWE superstars The Ascension have been announced for a pair of matches in 2020. Their non-compete contract expires March 8th.
However, they have opted to return after the 90 days are up. Sin Cara., who was released at the same time wrestled prior to his clause being complete in Mexico.
New York-based company Scott Wilder Promotions advertised the duo for their event “The Awakening” on March 21st. The event takes place in Watervliet, NY.
The flier also teases a “SmackDown rematch”, though it is unclear what team they are referring to.

Pennsylvania Premiere Wrestling also announced today that The Ascension will be in-action at their April 18th event, Supershow 3.

The Ascension were two of the four superstars released by WWE last week, along with Sin Cara and Luke Harper.
The fliers both use “The Ascension.” However, it is not clear if the duo owns the rights to the name.
It is possible this is an oversight by the promoters. It would be odd for the WWE to have not copyrighted the name.
Either way, it appears Konnor and Viktor will continue to be working together as a tag team moving forward in whatever company they choose to appear.
We’ll have more as more details become available.
