At tonight’s WWE SmackDown taping, the inaugural WWE Speed Women’s Champion was crowned in Nashville, Tennessee.
Tonight marked the conclusion of the inaugural WWE Speed Women’s Championship tournament and the crowning of the first champion.
In the final tonight, IYO SKY took on Candice LeRae to determine who would win the Twitter/X exclusive show’s title.
WWE Speed is generally filmed at Raw and SmackDown tapings but the matches are only featured on Twitter.
Historically the Speed Championship is also exclusive to the social media platform and has never appeared on main WWE television.
In tonight’s final, it was Candice LeRae who picked up the win over IYO SKY to become the first ever champion.
The current men’s WWE Speed Champion is Andrade, who won the title from its first ever holder, now-AEW star Ricochet.
In other news from the Gargano household on tonight’s SmackDown, DIY (Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano) and the Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford) fell short in their bid to win the WWE Tag Team Championship.
The Bloodline duo of Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa were able to retain the titles in SmackDown’s main event triple threat ladder match.
