The first independent signing of WWE’s new Independent Development (WWE ID) program has been officially announced.
WWE recently launched it’s new WWE ID program, which is designed for the company to partner up with various wrestling schools and independent wrestlers for a pathway into a contract with NXT.
Following the announcement, it was announced that a number of independent wrestlers were already contracted to the program, with the official Twitter page for the program teasing that 20 names had been signed.
Today, the first WWE ID signing was officially announced as Zayda Steel, who is credited as being scouted from Combat Zone Wrestling (CZW).
Zayda had been a part of Marigold’s first shows, finishing up with the promotion at the same time as current NXT star Giulia, revealing that she was not under contract to Rossy Ogawa’s company.
WWE ID also teased that another name would be announced at the upcoming Reality of Wrestling show this Sunday.
