Slane Glover, the first male cheerleader to be recruited to the WWE NIL program, has commented on his full-circle journey to this point.
In late 2023, WWE announced its fourth NIL class, which included Ohio State cheerleader Shane Glover from Delray Beach, Florida.
That same class included Bayley Humphrey and Sirena Linton who have been featured on season one and two of WWE LFG, and Darci Khan who has been a regular talent on Evolve for the past few months under the name Masyn Holiday.
Speaking to Jim Varsallone, Glover commented on his journey and the process of being signed to the WWE NIL program, saying that watching WWE was actually the inspiration for him to become a cheerleader in the first place.
He said:
“It was the craziest full circle moment – being a fan, watching Rey Mysterio and Daniel Bryan on the top ropes, ‘Yes! Yes! Yes!’, the high-flyers – seeing all of that was the catalyst to make me want to learn how to flip and be an acrobat and get into cheerleading.
“Having that catalyst, making me go through the journey of being a cheerleader, which is very niche, it’s not a route taken a lot, to then get recruited by one of the largest universities – athletic universities at that – Ohio State, and have that opportunity to cheer as a representative of Ohio state. To then my first year there have the WWE come through to bring this opportunity to athletes in college, was the craziest thing ever.
“I’m just riding the wave, I’m following my heart, I’m doing what I love, and for that to then come full circle and be like, ‘Hey, we want college athletes.’ That WWE came through my school to say that was just the craziest thing.
“It was at the back of my head at the time. I never believed that that’s what I could do.
“But all glory to God, that’s a God-sent opportunity to be like, ‘Slane, here it is man, take it, because, again, the full circle thing.’ And I’m like, ‘Boom, I’m going for it.’ It was just the most insane experience ever.”

Glover also discussed the process of WWE’s colleagerecruitment day, saying:
“It was a one-day thing where WWE came, we met in an intimate classroom in one of the athletic facilities, and they were basically presenting what they have to offer and were there to show us, ‘Hey, we see that college athletes have been the best Superstars, it is a correlation, that is the association, so we are here to show you what the future holds in WWE and that you are already a step ahead.’
“It was super intimate, it was really fun and personal, and brought Superstars to show us what it’s like being a Superstar. And recruit, it was a recruitment event, it was awesome, it was super cool.”

As reported by The Palm Beach Post, Glover has transferred to the University of Kentucky after three years at OSU, and will graduate in 2026 before moving back to Florida to get ready for life at the WWE Performance Center.
